Things & Behaviors That Can Destroy Relationships
Relationships are the foundation of our lives and they provide us with love, happiness, and a sense of belonging, relationships are very fragile and get affected by small little things if not taken care of properly. They can be the source of our greatest joys or the cause of our deepest pain. When relationships are working well, they help us grow in all aspects of our lives together. But when they donβt work, they can bring havoc to everything we have built together.
A strong relationship is when two people share their highs, lows, and everything in between, without letting their bond be threatened. But the biggest threat in any relationship will come when one or both of the partners stop trying.
When it comes to relationships, there are five common behaviors that will destroy your relationship if you do not change them. If you find yourself doing any one of these behaviors consistently, there is a strong chance that you are destroying your relationship without even knowing it:

Number 5: Holding Grudges & Unresolved Conflicts
Obviously, it’s hard to have a good relationship with the people you resent. So, it’s important to let things go and forgive them from time to time. In order to maintain a good relationship, one of the most important things is forgiveness. Understand that people make mistakes, but that doesn’t mean you have to keep holding them until they pile up and go out of control.
If you tend to carry around your fears, anger, or other bad emotions, then it is likely difficult for you to find happiness in a relationship. Always keep in mind that not all relationships are easy; even the best of partners may go through periods of adversity and problems, But with love and care for each other, you can deal with any situation.

Number 4: Lack of Emotional Support (Empathy & Care)
Empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of someone else. It is the process of understanding their thoughts, beliefs, and emotions. The lack of empathy can lead to many problems in a relationship.
It is important to find someone who cares about you and is willing to be patient with you. As relationships are based on the level of empathy, care, and emotional support given to each other, it is often hard to notice that the lack of these qualities has destroyed the relationship.
Studies have shown that couples can experience an increase in their relationship satisfaction when they feel like their partner is emotionally supportive. The lack of this type of support can lead to decreased happiness and even cause an eventual breakup.

Number 3: Taking your Partner for Granted
When people start taking their partners for granted, they forget to do simple things like telling them how much they appreciate them. These small actions add up and can make a person feel taken for granted. It is important to take the time to show your partner that you love and care about them because it could be just a few things that can have a huge impact on their life.
One thing that can make or break the relationship is how you treat your partner. It’s easy to fall into the trap, thinking they will always be there but eventually, if you continue to neglect them, they’ll start to feel hurt and neglected. Instead, try being mindful of things they do for you and how you treat them.
It’s important to go back to the basics once in a while to avoid complacency in any relationship. Going through each other’s day or just sharing some of the highlights of your day is an easy way to do this without too much effort. If you take your partner for granted they might stop appreciating your love. Work hard to maintain a happy relationship by showing each other appreciation, understanding, and respect.

Number 2: Lack of Honesty and Trust
Trust and honesty are the cornerstones of a healthy relationship. Without these, the relationship will crumble and break. Without honesty, there is no way to know what someone is really feeling. Without trust, there is no way to be vulnerable with your partner. When either of these elements is missing in a relationship, it can lead to feelings of insecurity and betrayal.
The lack of honesty and trust can lead to a break up of a relationship. It can lead to many problems such as lying, concealing information, and not listening. Doubting your partner will do nothing positive for your relationship and may end up creating a sense of emptiness that’s difficult for both partners to work through.

Number 1: Neglecting The Needs Of Your Partner
It’s hard to know how to prioritize your partner’s needs as well as your own. But neglecting the needs of your partner may result in a relationship that falls apart before it even has a chance to flourish.
For any relationship to work, both people involved need to be present and give something. You can’t keep focusing on yourself or your partner will get lonely. Truly successful relationships are built on the sense of compromise & collaboration.
When in a relationship, it’s important to take your partner’s preferences into account. Putting your own needs ahead of theirs is the opposite of what you should do in order to be in a healthy relationship.

In the end…
Relationships are fragile. And when they’re broken, it can feel like you’re in a dark place with no way out. This is the place that most of us are in when we lose someone that we have loved or cared for.
All relationships have their problems, but neglecting any of these minor points can lead to major issues. Keeping an eye on these points could not only save your relationship but also make your life much easier.
